Exciting debut solo album from London based Klashnekoff packed with reggae influenced arrangement and tales of street culture. This CD collects together previous singles alongside a couple of new original compositions. Existing fans of uk hip hop will have undoubtedly heard of Klashnekoff’s lyrical talent and this record provides an opportunity to realise this rep is more than media hype. Klash’s tearing delivery is beautiful accompanied with a range of catchy beats with specific highlights coming from Harry Love on the eerie ‘Its Murda’, Joe Buhdha on the absolutely anthemic ‘B4 U Die’, and Lewis Parker on the driven funk of ‘Daggo Mentality’. Overall, a wonderful album which maintains a strong sense of black identity with charismatic vocals and powerful production – not just an album of street anecdotes but articulate statements highlighting the different circumstances driving different British lives in 2004. An impressive collection of material – you’ll be hitting repeat – no doubt.
